Now in its fifth year, SALUTE TO THE SUN 2017 will once again take place at magnificent 17th century plantation house, Holders House (www.holders.net). Set in its own stunning grounds on the wonderful west coast of the island, the house has a beautiful verandah looking out to sea, which provides the perfect backdrop for the twice daily flowing yoga practise with Judith Daniel. Fabulous raw food goddess, Manuela Scalini (www.manuelascalini.com) will delight with menus which are delicious and divine and highly skilled massage therapist, Claudia Tessarin (www.attivamassage.co.uk), will be on hand to soothe away any aches and pains.
Yoga has been a constant in Judith's life for over 20 years and has helped to keep her calm and centred throughout her career in the hectic music Industry. Now an experienced yoga teacher, she’s thrilled to be sharing everything that it has taught her and encouraging people to join her on the mat. Her teaching style is creative and flowing, synchronising breath and movement (Vinyasa Flow) and the sun salutation is key to this. She enjoys nothing more than teaching where the sun shines and nature flourishes and helping her students to re-connect to themselves and open to life’s flow. An international Yogi and sun-seeker, she fell in love with Barbados over 20 years ago and loves to share her passion for the island.
Throughout the week, we will be exploring many ways of saluting the sun…on the mat, at the table, in the sand and on the water...

4.30-6.00pm - A more gentle, restorative, playful Yoga Session
7.00pm - Healthy Bajan cuisine from our resident local chef, Anthony
Your package includes one massage with excellent massage therapist Claudia Tessarin. This will be booked into the schedule on your arrival.
With regard to the Yoga Practise, all levels are welcome. The group will be small enough to guarantee a good level of attention to each student and ensure that you will progress in your practise throughout the week.

Breakfast: Raw citrus granola and brazil nut milk, local fruit salad, fresh (Jamaican) orange juice

Lunch: Kale seaweed salad, carrots, cucumbers with creamy miso citrus ginger dressing, seeds. Rice paper spring rolls with pineapple dipping sauce. Passion fruit cheesecake.
Dinner: Blackened red snapper with salad and local vegetables.
There will be an opportunity to sample the fabulous local restaurants as one lunch and one dinner will be eaten out.

MARY YOUNG (www.violetlotusyoga.co.uk): After practising yoga for several years and finding that yoga gave her a real sense of liberation, Mary became inspired to train as a yoga teacher in 2008. Since her formal training in India, she takes regular classes all over London as well as running yoga workshops and retreats. She has also mentored and taught new teacher trainees on Yoga Alliance courses in both Goa and Ibiza. Keeping to traditional principles particularly that of Vinyasa, movement is synchronised with breath in her flowing sequences. Mary has recently undertaken Yoga Alliance training in Yin Yoga and now incorporates Yin into her teaching schedule. Like Judith, Mary was magically drawn to Barbados and is inspired by the contrasting east/west coastline which brings very Yin/Yang elements to this beautiful island retreat in the Caribbean. Mary is a Yoga Alliance 500 Hour RYT.
CLAUDIA TESSARIN (www.attivamassage.co.uk): Highly experienced, Claudia is qualified in various massage techniques including Thai Yoga, Deep Tissue, Sports, Classic Swedish and Indian Head Massage. With a long-standing interest in health, fitness and the therapeutic power of massage, she continues to travel and train and fuses many different styles and will tailor your time with her to suit your specific needs and overall well-being. One session at her healing hands will have you relaxed, stress-free and floating on air.
MANUELA SCALINI (www.manuelascalini.com): Born and raised in Brazil, is an international raw food chef who travels the world teaching workshops, catering retreats and consulting for raw food restaurants in SE Asia, USA and Latin America. Certified by Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, Manuela entwines her Brazilian heritage with her culinary delights, creating an unique exotic experience. She is an expert in tropical flavours and cuisine and one of her many passions is creating beautiful gourmet living food dishes using local and seasonal flavours from all of the places she travels to and the freshest ingredients, to nourish and energise body, mind and soul.
