“The retreat was just perfect for me. The yoga, the food and the location. Everything. I can’t wait for the next one.” - Jasmin, Salute to the Sun 2015

Now in its fifth year, SALUTE TO THE SUN 2017 will once again take place at magnificent 17th century plantation house, Holders House ( Set in its own stunning grounds on the wonderful west coast of the island, the house has a beautiful verandah looking out to sea, which provides the perfect backdrop for the twice daily flowing yoga practise with Judith Daniel. Fabulous raw food goddess, Manuela Scalini ( will delight with menus which are delicious and divine and highly skilled massage therapist, Claudia Tessarin (, will be on hand to soothe away any aches and pains.

Yoga has been a constant in Judith's life for over 20 years and has helped to keep her calm and centred throughout her career in the hectic music Industry. Now an experienced yoga teacher, she’s thrilled to be sharing everything that it has taught her and encouraging people to join her on the mat. Her teaching style is creative and flowing, synchronising breath and movement (Vinyasa Flow) and the sun salutation is key to this. She enjoys nothing more than teaching where the sun shines and nature flourishes and helping her students to re-connect to themselves and open to life’s flow. An international Yogi and sun-seeker, she fell in love with Barbados over 20 years ago and loves to share her passion for the island.

Throughout the week, we will be exploring many ways of saluting the sun…on the mat, at the table, in the sand and on the water...

Purify, re-energise and re-new on beautiful Barbados and let your inner sun shine through…

Since her formal training in India, she takes regular classes all over London as well as running yoga workshops and retreats. Mary has recently undertaken Yoga Alliance training in Yin Yoga and now incorporates Yin into her teaching schedule. Like Judith, Mary was magically drawn to Barbados and is inspired by the contrasting east/west coastline which brings very Yin/Yang elements to this beautiful island retreat in the Caribbean. Mary is a Yoga Alliance 500 Hour RYT.

CLAUDIA TESSARIN ( Highly experienced, Claudia is qualified in various massage techniques including Thai Yoga, Deep Tissue, Sports, Classic Swedish and Indian Head Massage. More Quotes:

“What an amazing experience. I loved every minute of it!” - Susannah, retreat guest 2014

"Yoga: Fab!... Pure medicine for the soul... Judith and the teachers. flawwwww less. Interesting yoga outfits from Judith daily" - Kate, SALUTE 17

"The massage with Claudia was very likely the best one of my entire life. Alas, I fear this will become the “gold standard” and from here on, all others will not measure up." - Larry, SALUTE 17

"Claudia is, hands down, the best masseur we have ever had. We loved her!" - Robin, SALUTE 17

"(on Claudia) She didn't massage HUGH JACKMAN for nothing!" - Kate, SALUTE 17

'Judith is wonderful at recognising each individual and their needs - keeping the yoga challenging and diverse. Gently encouraging a disciplined approach without being pushy. Excellent with people who prefer to push themselves.' - Claire, retreat guest 2014

"The venue was superb, stylish but homely... We had some amazing experiences, the rising sun, the setting sun, the absolutely hilarious and uplifting rain at sea during paddleboard yoga, a flirty crying parrot, and dips in the warm Caribbean Sea. Without doubt however the real stars were Manuela and her filling delicious raw food and of course the amazing Judith delivering beautifully organised, uplifting and graceful yoga. Always delivered with clear focus and gentleness - it is something I will certainly be rushing to do again, (just ordered a new yoga mat to salute the sun each day)." Susannah, retreat guest 2014
